Milk, foliar fertilizer, molasses, cassava starch, chitin and urea were the substrates tested. In laboratory test, leaf banana extract, milk and molasses showed positive effects on the antagonists growth. Milk and molasses showed the best survival of Serratia marcescens R1 in screenhouse. The S. marcescens R1 efficacy on black sigatoka was not affected by substrates application, under field conditions.
