Tests were accomplished under three oscillation amplitudes (10, 20 and 30 mm), two air speed of the ventilation system (13 and 16 m second-1) and two angular velocities (1500 and 1720 rpm) of the fan rotor. The separation capacity, the power requirement for separation, the separation efficiency of the fruits increased with the increment in the oscillation amplitude of the sieves and in the air speed of the fan. There was no influence of the fan rotation on the separation efficiency, the power requirement and the specific energy consumption. The separation capacity, berry loss and the impurity in the final product increased with the increase of the feeding rate of the pre-cleaning machine, while the specific energy consumption and the separation efficiency of berries decreased.
