Bourbon) cuttings. Treatment of the mother plants with triodobenzoic acid (TIBA) at 400 mg/l 3½ months before the cuttings were taken considerably increased the number of rooted cuttings. Additional treatment with indolebutyric acid (IBA) (trade product "Seradix" shortened the percentaje of rooted cuttings. The treatment of cuttings from untreated mother trees with IBA and 2-chloroethyl-trimethylammonium chloride (CCC) improved, but gibberellin (GA) inhibited rooting. The vegetative propagation of coffee can be improved considerably especially by the pretreatment of the mother plants with TIBA
