Some forms, when intercrossed, produced hybrids which showed heterosis. In the F2 and F3, individuals were isolated which performed well at Divo (200 m altitude). It is noted that some of the F3 trees were more vigorous than the best F2 and came into production earlier. It is suggested that such trees would be valuable in a breeding programme for the production of Arabusta material from crosses between C. arabica and C. canephora
