These plant hormones appear to play extremely important roles in the regulation of annual vegetative and reproductive growths of the plant. The scope for obtaining beneficial effects by application of certain synthetic growth regulators i.e., 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4-D), ethrel (2-chloroethane phosphonic acid) planofix (alphanaphtheleneacetic acid) and berelex (90 gibberellins) for agricultural economcy and crop production in coffee is enunciated
