Determinaçao de cobalto em plantas pelo metodo espectrofotomètrico de 2- nitroso - 1- naftol

Immediate formation of a stable complex is obtained when the reaction is conducted at pH between 7.0 and 8.5. The procedure involves adding triethanolamine solution in order to eliminate manganese interference, and after extraction in an organic phase, the absorbance of the complex is measured at 360-365 nm. The 2-nitroso-1-naphthol method was suitable to determine cobalt in the range of 0.5-5.0 microgram per 4 ml of isoamylacetate, as organic solvent. The accuracy was evaluated by the coefficient of variation (about 3.75) and by the recovery of cobalt added to the extracts of plant materials (about 97.9)
