Specific observations made by the author, relating to the establishment, management and agricultural use of the species in the Dominican Republic are reported. These include aspects of forage conservation, as well as establishment in association with medicinal and aromatic plants in Costa Rica. In the latter case G. sepium acts as protective crop and provides other secondary products for the farm.
