Armadilha automática de succao no estudo de microdípteros associados ao cacaueiro e ao cacau armazenado - 1973

++ Ilus. 3 tab. 18 ref. Sum. (En, Pt)

Preliminary trials were carried out with a Johnson & Taylor insect suction trap in cacao plantations and warehouses in five different places in the Cacao Region of Bahia, Brazil. More than 80 per cent of the insects collected in the field were Diptera. Various groups including the Mycetophilidae, Phoridae, Culicidae and also the Homoptera (Heteroptera) showed characteristic flight activity. The Lepidoptera in both field and warehouses showed greatly increased flight activity between 16:00 and 17:00. The versatility of the trap is emphasised for many entomological studies, including those concerning cacao pollination
